Saheliyon ki Bari

The atelier of Ghatiwala Jewellers in the heart of the pink city, jaipur, features a series of art installations by Desi Gulaab. Reminiscent of our treasured past and rich craft traditions, each artwork narrates a story of its own. The showroom takes on an alluring charm and is a magical interplay of crafts, textures and materials. The project, in its entirety, is a result of immense team effort, careful attention to detail and kind patronage.

Chitchatting Rajput queens in fragrant gardens, bejewelled parrots and pomegranates, 1580 man hours and a rich heirloom of Indian crafts come together in a deconstructed mural on the double height wall in the entrance foyer of the showroom.

The mural is a juxtaposition of EMBROIDERED STAINLESS STEEL meshes, HAND PAINTED panels and SAND CASTED BRASS sculptures embedded with semi-precious jewels. The transmissivity of Stainless steel in combination with fine Zardozi embroidery lends an ethereal quality to the artwork.
